​Finarty Cemetery is in Knoxville Township Section 35 Township 75 Range 20, located near the 1800 block of 115th Place, about 4 miles south of Knoxville on Hwy. 14, west 1/2 mile on Quaker Street, then north 1/4 mile. This now well cared-for spot is in a timbered corner surrounded by a field on the west, north, and east sides owned by Randy and Janie Utterback of Newton.



Another field 100 feet north is owned by Gary Clingman of Chariton. It has a farm gate for access across the two fields, which are cropped as one field with no fence dividing. The fenced and mowed site is about 1200 feet square, 600 feet west of the road. This cemetery with at least four names has a dozen gravestones remaining. Signage was placed at the cemetery in April 2021.
